SELF REVIEW OF LOR

SELF REVIEW OF LOR:

  • Checking your LOR document is important as it is the document that basically tells the university you have chosen that they have chosen the right candidate for the services they can provide.

  • It is another opportunity to sell yourself to the university and can inform them about your personality, ethics and other positive qualities that are unique to you.

  • If you are unaware of what exactly an LOR is, we have made a video that includes information on what an LOR is and what it is used for with an attached sample document, so you can check it out to clear any queries you have.

  • The first step when regarding your LOR, is to make sure you haven’t copied or plagiarised your LOR.

  • This will make the LOR less impressionable and more generic, like most LORs most universities receive.

  • The LOR should be designed by a professor you have known well enough during your course duration at your previous university.

  • This process can be made easier by providing with a rough draft with the things you want to be in the LOR.

  • First, mention the course name which you are applying to.

  • Then mention some subjects that the professor has already taught you and how you have excelled in them under their guidance.

  • Then mention that you were among the top 10 or 15 per cent of students in the class.

  • Then the professor must briefly mention your positive traits about your behaviour, work ethic, studies and how you have developed yourself under their guidance.

  • It is also worth mentioning if the professor had also acted as a guide in your final year project and to mention the experiences that led to the successful completion of that project.

  • Finish the LOR with the guarantee of the professor saying that it is a good choice for the university to select you as a candidate for the course and letting the university know that they can contact your professor for any further information that is required.

  • After following these steps and making sure that every guideline has been fully cleared, you can proceed to use your LOR for your application process.
